studio spaceThe TVP classroom space includes a versatile studio set with color-changing light panels, a moveable news desk, studio cameras with teleprompters and a green cyc wall. |
control roomInside the control room, students learn how to run multi-cam productions with the NewTek TriCaster video production system, audio mixer and MagiCue Teleprompter. |
become an adobe certified associateTVP students learn digital editing with Adobe Premiere Pro and can earn an industry-based certification as an Adobe Certified Associate. |
Television Production is one of the programs offered by the Career & Technical Education Department within the Calcasieu Parish School Board. It is part of the Digital Media & Entertainment Technology Jumpstart Pathway.
Three Television Production sessions are offered Monday-Friday at College Street Vocational Center.
Each session has a two-hour credit component and students can choose dual enrollment with
SOWELA Technical Community College at no cost.

reaL-world experiencesBy partnering with area organizations and schools, students participate in field trips to shoot videos and interviews on-site. That video is then brought back to the classroom for post-production. |
